#𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬𝟒𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 is currently accepting submissions, which will debut on Holocaust Remembrance Day April 8th, 2021. The current all-virtual exhibition, which is part of the educational mission, will combine the work of interdisciplinary artist Lori Arbel with the stories, and submissions provided by members of the public.
This short yet mindful 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 is for all ages and skill levels. We invite you to participate and to send your project to us for inclusion in the online gallery.
Take any size paper and make a mark for each year of your life, to celebrate your existence, your uniqueness, and honor the 1.5 million children whose lives were taken in the Holocaust. Today we have 15,698 marks.
This is for all people, regardless of age, race, or talent. Celebrating our similarities and differences. This is peace.
The mailed submissions will be woven together to create a quilt, a celebration of life.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞. Individuals and artists will confirm their own mark, existence, and share reflection on the process. We all have the child within us, the one that wants to be recognized and not forgotten. These intimate glimpses into our lives reveal a work of art and the process by which it is made. All works will be displayed in a traveling art exhibition TBD.
