You’re sus if you haven’t heard of Among Us, a current popular video game. In Apple’s App Store, this free game is rated 4.2 stars at the moment and is right now third place out of all action apps. Developed by InnerSloth LLC, this video game even won an Editors’ Choice award.
In the game, there are several servers. In each server, there is a group of tiny astronauts. They are all on a mission to a rocketship with assigned tasks. The majority of these astronauts are crewmates, but, among them, there is an imposter. During the game, crewmates must complete their tasks and survive. Moreover, they have to figure out who the imposter is. The imposter needs to eliminate crewmates without getting caught in order to win the game. There are meetings in the game to vote out, or eject, suspects. (Now, if you are killed or wrongly ejected, you can still complete your tasks as a ghost.) At the end of the game, the victorious are the ones that survived, but they don’t always have to be the crewmates…
This suspenseful game may be too rough for those under the age of eight. Well, that’s my opinion. However, I think the game is a fun and strategic enjoyment overall. It’s a great activity for a group of friends. I may not be the best at the game, but it’s quite thrilling to play it. Among Us might just be the video game of this generation.
