Wings of Fire: The Dragonet Prophecy
Before you read this article, I would like to introduce myself! My name is Mariana, and this is my first article! I registered as a junior reporter for Macaroni Kid because I enjoy writing very much. In fact, I have written many weekly newspapers for my family! I also enjoy reading, and plan on becoming an author. I am excited to be writing for Macaroni Kid! I hope you enjoy this article!
Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland is an exciting, fantasy book series of currently fourteen books with more to come soon.
The first five books revolve around the Dragonet Prophecy, which was meant to end a war. The series’s first books take place in a dragon world called Pyrrhia, and there are seven known dragon tribes in that land. Within those seven tribes, five dragons from different tribes are chosen to fulfill the prophecy. Those dragons are Clay the MudWing, Tsunami the SeaWing, Glory the RainWing, Starflight the NightWing, and Sunny the SandWing. The war began when the queen of the SandWings was defeated and her three daughters argued on who should take the throne, and they became rivals. The five chosen dragons set out to fulfill their destiny within the first five books of the Wings of Fire series.
In my opinion, the book series does have a lot of violence but also some of friendship and adventure. Some lessons that the first five books portray are that anyone can be a hero, it is not right to be judgemental because of where people are from, and true friends are the people who care and will always be there for you.
I recommend Wings of Fire to whomever likes fantasy, dragons, or adventure. This is Junior Reporter Mariana B., signing off.
